Jean Baptiste DIEL b. 1818, married Marie Angelique LARIVIERE who was born 1824, in Quebec. They had 8 children.
One of their sons was Maxime DYELLE, born May 20, 1848, married to Armeline Hermeline BELEC. They settled in La Passe, Ontario, Canada. They had four children (I think) one of them was my great-grandfather Michael James DYELL.
The census of 1861 for Mansfield, PON PQ shows Jean Baptiste DYELLE aged 43 and a Francois DYELLE aged 30 who was married to Rose VAILLANT, living near each other. It shows that the parents of Francois were Francois DIEL and Julienne CODERE.
If Jean Baptiste and Francois are indeed brothers, then I can go back another generation but still can't connect to the line of Philippe DIEL and Marie ANQUETIN.
